The Mindo Birdwatching Tour begins with pick-up from your hotel in Quito at 8:30 a.m. You will drive to the real Middle of the World at the Intiñan Museum before continuing to Mindo. Upon arrival, you will check in at Royal River Suites or Toucan Platinum suites, depending on the accommodation selected.

Visit the Punto Ornitológico Mindo, one of the best places to observe hummingbirds and other colorful species of the cloud forest. Witness dozens of hummingbirds flying around you while feeding on nectar stations. Every hummingbird has its own unique characteristics, from size and colors to beak shape and tail patterns. This is a paradise for bird lovers and photographers.

After check-in, you will visit the butterfly garden and have free time to relax around the hotel or walk through the town of Mindo. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing massage surrounded by the peaceful cloud forest atmosphere.

The next morning, your birding guide will pick you up at the suites at 6:00 a.m. to begin the Mindo Birdwatching Tour. You will drive along the famous San Lorenzo Road, one of the best birdwatching areas in Ecuador. During the tour, you may spot a wide variety of bird species including woodpeckers, tanagers, motmots, toucans, flycatchers, and many more. The birdwatching excursion finishes around 9:00–9:30 a.m.

After the tour, you will return to the hotel for breakfast. You will then have free time to relax at the lodge or explore the town before your private driver picks you up at 12:00 p.m. the following day.
